Move over olive oil, make room for avacodo

Is avocado oil really the new olive oil?


The number of similarities between avocado and olive oil are high.

Both are high in vitamin E and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.   Fatty acids help fight high cholesterol and are a great defense against heart disease.  They are also known to lower blood pressure.  Both the oils are high in monounsaturated fats, which also help lower cholesterol and can help reduce belly fat.

Both the oils are high in antioxidants which are known to help keep eyes and heart healthy.  They can also boost you immune system. When oils are applied topically, the antioxidants can help reduce fine lines and repair sun damage.

Avocado oil is much higher in nutrients and has a higher concentration of monounsaturated fats.

What about as a cooking oil?

Avocado oil is a must have in my kitchen.  It has a much higher smoking point than olive oil, which makes it perfect for pan frying foods.

Olive oil is better suited for dressing salads, although avocado oil also taste great when in a salad.

So the winner is? Yup, you guessed it.  Avocado oil!
